Picture This ...

The challenge on Picture This during December is about using shapes ...

You can use any shapes that you feel, hexagons, circles, squares, diamonds you name it.

I decided to go with squares - 4 squares mounted on a square, mounted on a square, mounted on a square.

thanks for looking :)

Scrapbookit ...

They are having a December recipe challenge over on Scrapbookit.....

Your project must include the minimum of the following, 5 squares, 4 Buttons, 3 Flowers 2 Arrows and 1 Circle.

5 square chipboard embellishments, 4 tiny buttons, 3 flowers, 2 arrows and one circle all covered.
My son likes playing on his PS3 in comfort - it's thrilling and cosy all at the same time lol

Thanks for looking :)

Archi-scraps ...

Archiscraps and a December challenge criteria of cogs.  Hmm, getting cogs onto a Christmas page wasn't the easiest of tasks but since I was determined to only do layouts during December for my Christmas album I made them work.  I've used them in my cluster placement and they sort of blend in - I like to think they could be ornaments lol.

Thanks for looking :)

Some cards ...

Christmas wouldn't be complete without me making a dozen or so Christmas cards - it's sort of a bit of a tradition for me.  I used to give out many more but I came to realise that not everyone appreciates the time and effort it is to do handmade so now I usually send these send to like minded people and purchase charity cards for the others. Off the rails has a "Traditions" challenge this month with a sweet mood board featuring predominantly white, silver and red.

Here are 3 of the cards I made (there were 10 in total) using leftovers from a Christmas kit I have used to pre-make pages for my Christmas photos for 2016.  I love using up bits and pieces like this for cards.

Kraft +

Funnily enough Kraft + has a similar theme this month to our challenge on ARTastic, namely Home.

I did a page featuring our current home for this so I had to think a little laterally for this challenge on Kraft +.  Since I am desperately trying to reduce my rather large pile of yet to scrap Christmas photographs I decided to use one of my daughter in front of our Christmas tree.  I added in little house embellishments to my page to highlight the home aspect.  I guess I can be cheesy and say that at this time of the year "home" means family and surrounding ourselves with the ones we love.

Thanks for looking :)

STB ...

Happy to say I am making a dent in my yet to scrap Christmas photo pile.  Yay!!

My next page is for Scrap the Boys using this really lovely colour scheme.  Love the combination of blue and red.

I am really happy how this page came out - my son was equally as happy with his much anticipated Playstation game back in the day :)

Thanks for looking.

A song and a theme ...

Still working on completing pages for my Christmas album.  This one is done for the challenge on Scrap It With a Song and their Christmas music song "We wish you a merry Christmas", a happy little jingle if ever there was one.

Christmas Music

I have been predictable and simple used Merry Christmas on my page.

Also including this for the Christmas themed challenge on Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.

Challenge Yourself ...

I am on a roll in my quest to complete Christmas pages.  My next challenge is Challenge Yourself with a Happy Holiday theme (which is Christmas of course).

And the photo for this page goes way back.  Can't believe how much my dh and I have changed (I also can't believe he still wears this particular t-shirt - aghh men!  they never let go of anything!)

Thanks for looking :)

The Color Sisters ...

Another two pages on my quest to fill some holes in my Christmas album.  This time for the two challenges at The Color Sisters this month.

The Tic Tac Toe challenge in Italian gave me a few issues but I finally worked out gomma is rubber so I have used the top horizontal line of rubber, vellum and wood veneer on my page.

The photo mat is vellum while the little present paper clip is rubber.  The veneer is self evident in the "Hello" title and the three little hexagons.

The second challenge is a colour one ..

I think I have covered them all in my layout.

Thanks for looking :)

A-Z ...

As I flipped through my Christmas album recently I realised I had so many missing pages I really needed to make an effort to get some scrapping done so I made a little pledge to myself that during December I would try to fill some of those holes before I took yet more present unwrapping, Christmas tree decorating and children posing snaps again this year.  And while I was at it I might enter the odd Christmas challenge or two :)

The first one is with A-Z Scraplets who have an interesting challenge based on a snakes and ladders board - hmm what on earth to do with this?

I decided to incorporate the red, blue, green and white colour base and was inspired by the idea of going up - in my case rising up a Christmas tree in embellishment steps.  I have included a chipboard saying (I am sorry I don't know if this is from A-Z as all my chipboard is lose in a drawer) which I have coloured by spraying with glitter ink.

Thanks for looking :)

123 ...

Our December challenge on 123 Challenge Blog is a really elegant one this month which could have a Christmas slant to it if you wished - many of our DT took it in that direction ... myself included.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Pixels and Paper in December ...

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas on Pixels and Paper and you guessed it - that's our theme this month with a difference, you can also include your furry and feathered friends.

CRITERIA - Christmas and/or Pets and if you are extra clever  ... Christmas Pets

We have some wonderful inspiration from the team - some rather funny.  Hope you can find time to pop over and play along with us this month.

My page was inspired by the colours and the theme ...

Christmas - it isn't always about the presents, sometimes it is just about the boxes they come in !

An angle ...

November is "Something at an angle" challenge month at Archiscraps and have this photo for inspiration - at an angle it certainly is !!  Wow these can't be real can they?

Still the challenge was interesting so I put my thinking cap on and came up with my version of an angle on a layout.  I pulled a few of the colours from the swatch and ran with them.

Thanks for looking :)

Scrap the Boys ...

Ahhh sports and boys - kinda goes hand in hand doesn't it?  My son is sporty but probably not in the conventional sense - he doesn't play soccer or football, isn't into tennis or golf - he's a swimmer and quite a good one so the challenge this month on Scrap the Boys had instant appeal .. it was time to scrap a swimming photo or two.

I had THE perfect photos taken at a swim club night and of course wonderful Kaisercraft papers to document the event.

Thanks for looking :)

Detecting with CSI ...

I am Guest Detective for Scrapbook Fantasies over on CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration this month with their Case File #218.

I had a lot of fun putting this page together featuring our rather lazy feline.  I used papers from Shimelle for the colour scheme and added in a few enamel dots and dotty paper, clouds as weather elements, an animal (of course) and used the words pet and active in my journaling.

Hope you can play along this month.

123 Challenge Blog in November ...

I think you will like our challenge over on 123 Challenge Blog this month.  I know I loved the colour and the other elements came together quickly.

Colour: Peach

Word: Pretty

Technique: Pleats

Here is my page ...

Hope to see your work in our link-up.

A touch of gold ...

Hope you like our inspiration on Pixels and Paper Challenge Blog this month - it is rather elegant I think..

You might love the white, gold and pink colours or be inspired by the use of the three squares.  You might be drawn to the chair or the columns or particularly like the floral paintings.  Whatever draws you we'd love to know what has inspired you.

Our CRITERIA is to add a touch (or more) of GOLD to your work.

I was inspired by the white, gold and pink colour scheme and the idea of the chair.

Can't wait to see what inspires you!

A Shimelle weekend ...

Shimelle is having a weekend of challenges - yay to that!!  I haven't had a massive amount of me time this weekend but have managed to carve out a hour this afternoon to participate in at least one of these terrific challenges and I hope to be able to do another one or two during the week.

Let’s be practical with this first challenge of the weekend: create a new page with lots of little photos!

Here is mine - six 3x4 photographs on my page of one of the places my daughter visited on a trip to Melbourne a few years ago.

Show us your stuff ...

I simply could not resist this gorgeous mood board on Show us your stuff this month designed by artist Leanne Jago from her wonderful art pieces.

I was so inspired by the colours, choosing to use blue, lime and turquoise for my background using a combination of spray inks on white cardstock.  I then had to highlight our own little animal subject - Miss Bella, our regal feline!  I have enhanced the page with gold droplet, rub-ons and a splash of yellow to match in with her eyes.  My handmade star embellishment and a scattering of enamel dots finishes the page.

Off the rails ...

October has presented us with a few Halloween inspired challenges like the one over on Off the Rails Scrapbooking.  I don't do Halloween and the very few relevant photos I have of fancy dress and theme parties have long since been scrapped so I took the opportunity to do a page for my travel album.

An avenue of stark leafless trees, branches reaching for the sun on a foggy morning in Paris.  Yep creepy enough :)

Kraft + ...

Kraft + is going back in time this month with a challenge to use up some of those "forgotten" products in our stashes.  The prompt was to use one of these items but well, I couldn't stop at one!!

I pulled out old papers - and when I say old I mean OLD - these have to be at least 7 or 8 if a day!  Next came some buttons.  Here I sheepishly admit to loving using buttons, old hat or not and brads, yep love those too.  It's not in the category but I pulled some photos not yet scrapped of my then 7 year old son (he's now 18) so oldies but goodies.

It's simple but it works and another page completed for the album!

123 Challenge Blog in October ...

Our October challenge is up on 123 Challenge Blog.

This was a fun page to put together and works well for a travel layout.

Hope you can come and play along with us this month.

Pixels and Paper for October ...

It's another challenge on Pixels and Paper.  This month we have a rather shabby chic image for you to take some inspiration from.  You may like the vintage feel of this photograph and run with using lace on your page or perhaps you are drawn to the flowers and work those onto your entry in some way.  Maybe you like the colour white and add in pale pink and yellow as your accent colours. Or possibly you prefer the shapes in this image and like to use a combination of rectangles and ovals and hexagons on your page.  Whatever inspires you about our image, please share it with us.

CRITERIA - The use of frames on your entry

JANE
I ran with the vintage feel of the image and also picked up the buff colour of one of the roses as my main colour.  I added in lace as a background strip and with the flowers I have used.

Hope you can come and join in with us on Pixels and Paper this month.

Perfect peace ...

The challenge on Scrapbookit this month is to get messy so this i what I did.

I spray misted my background sheet of patterned paper and then splattered it with white paint.  next I got out my paints and used the bubble wrap technique to add some more colour to my page.  Next another light spray with a shimmer mist which just give a slight sheen to the page.

I am in a bit of a run on using Project Life cards in place of patterned paper as I have so many of them so pulled some out and a photo of our gorgeous but extremely noisy cockatiel Jack - we love him but WOW sometimes we just want some PEACE !!  My son has often said he can hear him squawking, talking and whistling as he turns the corner into our street from the school bus stop and that is some six houses away.  I often wonder what the neighbours think :)

Also combining this challenge with one from Off the Rails Scrapbooking where if I have interpreted this correctly we were to use one of the words and inspiration from the mood board - in my case PEACE and the use of green (from the lips).

Red Stars ...

I am trying to get the odd Christmas layout done in amongst my other scrapping.  I have a huge stock pile of Christmas photos that go back years and I really need to catch up on some.  In fact I have a scrap day coming up in October and I think I will take only Christmas supplies and try and make a dint in them.

This page combines the elements of two September challenges - using RED from Another Scrappy Challenge  and the use of  STARS from Picture This.

One down .... now only 246 to go !!

Happy Birthday ...

Another pretty moodboard on Scrapbook Boutique this month

with a distinctly birthday theme to it.

I went with making a couple of cards using washi tape as my basis picking up the colours of the floating balloons.  I used two stickers which have been in my stash for ages and I wasn't quite sure what to do with - they worked brilliantly for this theme and it is always a good feeling when you finally find a use for something.
